First Aid for Non-Medical Individuals

First aid courses are designed for individuals that are looking to obtain a skill at the basic level. These courses are designed for anyone from the age of 10 and above and are taught in a number of different languages.

Junior First Aid - CPR in Schools facilitator Course

Al Fajer EMS has worked in conjunction with the American Heart Association to develop a CPR in schools facilitators course.  This course is an instructor led course that teaches education providers the critical skills and information needed to facilitate CPR training to students aged between 10 and 16 in their schools. 

Upon successful completion, teachers and educational providers will act as facilitators of the American Heart Association CPR in Schools Program enabling students to learn the lifesaving skills of CPR and relief of choking.

• History of CPR
• Chain of Survival
• Cardiac Emergencies (Cardiac Arrest vs. Heart Attack)
• High Quality CPR Explained
• Use of Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
• Other lifesaving Techniques
• Introduction to CPR in Schools
• Importance of the CPR Training Kits
• Training Programs and Lesson Plans

Upon completion of the course Teachers will become part of the growing world wide community of CPR facilitators in Schools.

Maids and Nannies

Our children are our most precious gift and it is important that when we entrust their care to another individual we are confident that they will be able to do the right thing in case of an emergency.  Maids and Nannies classes allow participants to receive the Paediatric First Aid CPR course at a slower pace and where possible in their own language, the environment created by the instructors allows participants to feel relaxed and ensure they are confident in the ability to deal with an emergency once they leave the classroom.

AHA HeartSaver First Aid CPR & AED

Designed for anyone with limited or no medical training, obtaining this qualification meets regulatory requirements for first aid at work. This course is taught using the AHA’s research-proven techniques, allowing our instructors to observe students while providing them feedback and guiding them in learning the skills required to complete the course and have the confidence to use them outside of the classroom.

This course is a video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency until emergency medical services arrives.

Skills covered in this course include:
• First Aid the basics
• Medical Emergencies
• Wound management
• Environmental Emergencies
• Choking relief in adults, children, and infants
• Sudden cardiac arrest in adults, children, and infants
• How to conduct CPR in adults, children, and infants
• How to use an AED for adults and children

Upon completion of this course individuals will receive a Heartsaver provider card.

Heartsaver Paediatric First Aid CPR AED

Designed for child care providers, Nannies, maids and parents. Obtaining this qualification meets regulatory requirements for first aid at work.
This course teaches child care providers and others to respond to and manage illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives.

It covers the Four Steps of First Aid and paediatric first aid skills;

• First Aid the basics
• Respond to and manage illness and injury
• Medical Emergencies
• Wound Management
• Using an Epinephrine pen
• CPR AED for a child
• CPR for infants
• Asthma Care
• Optional modules child mask, infant mask

Upon completion of this course individuals will receive a Heartsaver provider card.
